Band Aid Mini Facelift
The “Band Aid” facelift process is simpler than that of the standard facelift and requires less recovery time. Depending on the area of the face you wish to target, incisions may be placed under the chin, directly above the ears, or behind the ears and running to the nape of the neck.
Facelift VS “Band Aid” Mini Facelift
In this video, Dr. LeRoy distinguishes between the traditional facelift and the less invasive “band aid mini facelift.
If you are looking to remove excess fat in the jaw and lower neck area, Dr. John LeRoy can perform a “Band Aid” facelift that specifically targets these features. During the procedure, Dr. LeRoy will use liposuction to remove fat through an incision under the chin, tighten the skin by means of an inward laser treatment, and tighten the muscles using sutures. This type of mini facelift is best for patients with good skin elasticity, as little skin tightening is performed during surgery.
If you are concerned about your sagging jaw line, chin, or lower cheeks, an anterior mini facelift may be a good option. Performed as an outpatient procedure at our Atlanta, Georgia office, this mini facelift involves the removal and/or repositioning of fatty deposits and the tightening of excess skin in the jaw, chin, and cheek areas. An incision will run in front of the ears and into the scalp.
Finally, the posterior “Band Aid” facelift targets the skin in the lower jowls and neck. The skin is lifted, laid back down, tightened, and trimmed along an incision that runs behind the ears and into the nape of the neck.
Band Aid FAQs:
What is the “Band Aid” Facelift?
Also known as a “mini facelift,” the Band Aid Facelift is an original technique that Dr. John LeRoy developed in 1997 to address the early signs of aging and to provide a “refresher” for those patients looking to maintain the appearance of previous facelift results. The Band Aid Facelift is completed in-office with gentle numbing; most patients are able to drive themselves home after the procedure. Because the incisions required for Band Aid Facelift are smaller than those involved with traditional facelift surgery, there is less bruising and swelling.
Is the “Band Aid” Facelift right for me?
The Band Aid Facelift is ideal for those patients just starting to notice the signs of aging but are not ready for a full facelift or for those who want to touch up a facelift performed years earlier. The Band Aid Facelift should be approached with caution if you are not in overall good health, have uncontrolled high blood pressure or blood-clotting problems. To determine if you’re a good candidate, contact Dr. LeRoy’s office to schedule an in-person cosmetic consultation.
How does the Band Aid Facelift compare to a full facelift?
Just like a full facelift, the Band Aid Facelift separates and tightens the underlying muscles and removes excess skin on the cheeks and jawline. The Band Aid Facelift is performed with gentle numbing, about one-half the cost of a traditional facelift, and also produces less swelling and bruising.
Rosa’s Band-Aid Mini Facelift Experience
Rosa shares her experience with the Band Aid Mini Facelift procedure and explains why she selected Dr. LeRoy.
Feeling that I was not ready to have a full face lift at this time, I was overjoyed to have the mini lift. It gave me a rested look without looking so unreal for a woman at 50 years of age. To still have lines on my forehead make people know that I have not had a facelift, but so many mentioned that I finally look rested and refreshed. They don’t seem to know what has happened. I feel that a woman should have the choice of stages rather than only the entire face replaced. It’s almost like a miracle that you’ve returned me to my youth and I look about 30-35. I will be glad to recommend you to anyone who wants this procedure. It was really a minor step to fight the old age process. Thank you millions!
