Dr. John LeRoy hopes to use Social Media Milestone to Enhance Patient Care

Posted on February 24, 2012 12:47PM in Dr. LeRoy's Blog

Atlanta cosmetic and plastic surgeon Dr. John LeRoy celebrates 20 years in practice this year.  Just last week the board certified plastic surgeon celebrated a different sort of milestone:  100,000 Twitter followers for his @JohnLLeRoyJrMD profile.  He credits the wide-spread popularity of social media and digital sharing with his diverse and vast audience, but hopes the numbers will translate into benefits for patients saying, “Everyone uses online resources nowadays to research everything from where to eat dinner to which doctor to trust.  I hope that the information I share can become a trusted, convenient resource for patients interested in plastic surgery.”

In addition to Twitter, Dr. LeRoy maintains an extensive website with plastic surgery before and after photos to educate patients interested in facial plastic surgery, breast surgery, or body procedures.  He also regularly updates his blog  and cosmetic surgery YouTube channel with industry news and interacts with patients on his Facebook page.

Does that Eyelid Surgery Come in a Small? Band Aid Blepharoplasty Explained

Posted on February 20, 2012 9:42AM in Dr. LeRoy's Blog

john leroyOur eyelids work overtime to protect our eyes from harmful environmental factors like sun, bright natural and artificial light, dust, bugs, wayward makeup, etc.  It should come as no surprise that the eye area is typically the first to show signs of aging.  Crow’s feet can appear as early as one’s late 20s or 30s and progress into sagging eyelids as the delicate skin loses elasticity beginning in one’s 40s. In 1997, Dr. John LeRoy invented the Band Aid Facelift to help patients who started to notice the signs of aging, but weren’t quite ready for a full facelift.

Since then, Dr. LeRoy has developed an extensive selection of other Band Aid mini plastic surgery procedures including Band Aid Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), liposuction, laser skin resurfacing, brow lift, and tummy tuck.  Band Aid Blepharoplasty is an in-office procedure completed with gentle numbing.  During the procedure, Dr. LeRoy carefully removes the pockets of fat and tightens the loose skin surrounding the eyes to yield a younger, more alert appearance.  Band Aid Blepharoplasty produces more subtle-looking plastic surgery results.

Though the procedure is not as involved as its traditional predecessor, Band Aid Blepharoplasty produces noticeable results in facial rejuvenation patients seeking a little lift to their current appearance.  Many Band Aid Blepharoplasty patients combine their procedure with Band Aid Laser Skin Resurfacing to rejuvenate the surrounding facial skin and minimize the appearance of sun damage or dark spots beginning to form.  Additionally, some patients will complete their facial rejuvenation with the use of Latisse® eyelash treatment to showcase their refreshed eyes with longer, darker, and thicker lashes.

Visit Dr. LeRoy’s website and continue to read his blog to learn more about the other Band Aid plastic surgery procedures he performs.  You can also connect with Dr. LeRoy on Twitter and Facebook for up-to-the-minute plastic surgery advancements as they become available.
