Which Charity Will Receive a $1,000 Donation? It’s Up to You!

At the office of Dr. John L. LeRoy, we have deep gratitude for our patients who allow us to do what we love every day and to help them become their most confident and beautiful selves. To pay it forward, we’re donating $1,000 to a charity who can use the funds to make the world a little better. Over the past few weeks, you nominated many deserving charities, and now it’s time to vote for a winner!

The Cookie Mom’sters – This charity is proof that you don’t need a large organization in order to make a powerful difference. As a group of moms who coordinate bake sales to raise money for Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, the Cookie Mom’sters are helping to fund research and support to end pediatric cancer.

Atlanta S.E.E.D.s (Self-Esteem Empowerment and Education through Dance) – The Roswell branch of this nationwide organization has taken a unique yet effective approach toward helping young girls become more confident, knowledgeable, and responsible. A combination of dance instruction, mentoring, guest speakers, and other activities come together to help local young girls and teens become well-rounded citizens.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society – One of the many challenges in fighting cancer is the sheer amount of variation in the disease. By focusing their efforts on blood cancers, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is able to fund powerful research and support efforts toward eradicating this branch of the disease while also making life a little easier for those affected by blood cancer in the meantime.

The American Cancer Society – While this charity is a powerful force in the large-scale fight against cancer, with its headquarters in Atlanta, The American Cancer Society is a source of pride for our community. From preventative education to research funding to legislative action to patient support, this organization is dedicated to both the long-term goal of treating and curing cancer, as well as the short-term goal of improving the prognosis and quality of life for cancer patients everywhere.
