At the offices of Atlanta plastic surgeon John LeRoy, MD, we feel fortunate every day that we’re able to pursue our passion and help our patients be their most confident and beautiful selves. In an effort to spread the joy and give back to our community, we asked our patients and supporters to help by nominating and voting for charities who would put our $1,000 donation to good use. The votes are in, and we’d like to wish congratulations to the winner: Atlanta S.E.E.D.s!
S.E.E.D.s stands for Self-Esteem, Education and Empowerment through Dance. As a program that was conceptualized in New Mexico in 2000, S.E.E.D.s was brought to Atlanta by local founder Liezel Lane in 2012. The unique after-school program serves girls in the pre-teen and teenage years. Using a combination of American Tribal Style dance instruction, guest speakers, conversational forums, and other educational experiences, S.E.E.D.s works toward its mission “to mentor young women in order to create healthy and strong individuals who are socially and fiscally responsible to themselves and their community.”
As an organization that is dedicated to helping those whom they serve to become the best and happiest versions of themselves, Atlanta S.E.E.D.s helps young girls to get a step ahead in life by being more knowledgeable and well-adjusted, and we’re honored to be a part of their mission.
We would like to thank all of our patients and supporters who nominated and voted for each of the deserving organizations in our social media charity contest, and we look forward to helping other worthy organizations in the months and years to come.
