As a double board-certified plastic surgeon, I’m primarily known for my surgical procedures, especially my line of minimally-invasive procedures like the Band Aid Facelift. However, fewer patients realize the many non-surgical procedures available at our office. One such procedure that helps many patients to see younger, firmer skin without the cost and time involved in surgery is my Band Aid Skin Tightening. To help patients have a better understanding of this treatment option, I’ve answered several of the most common questions patients ask about Band Aid Skin Tightening.
How does Band Aid Skin Tightening work?
The Protégé skin tightening system is instrumental in this procedure. The innovative Energy Flow Control (EFC) system sends gentle yet targeted heat energy into the deeper layers of the skin in the treatment area. This warmth causes the body to produce more collagen, the protein that gives our skin its elasticity and firmness but decreases as we age. This new collagen smooths wrinkles, re-firms the skin, and adds a youthful glow.
When will I see the results of Band Aid Skin Tightening?
While some patients experience noticeable results after one treatment, patients who get the most out of their treatments are those who complete up to five treatments. The collagen growth stimulated by the treatment is gradual, so results gradually appear in the weeks and months following the procedure. In fact, patients typically see the full results between three and six months after their last session.
What recovery time is involved after Band Aid Skin Tightening treatments?
One of the reasons patients find Band Aid Skin Tightening so appealing is that it involves no downtime. Like my other Band Aid procedures, the treatment can be performed in my office. Because the procedure doesn’t impact the skin’s surface and carries no patient discomfort, there is no anesthesia necessary, and patients can return to their normal activities immediately after the treatment. I do, however, encourage patients to drink more water in the days before and after their procedure to avoid dehydration and help the results to appear sooner.
Am I a good candidate for Band Aid Skin Tightening?
Patients who find Band Aid Skin Tightening to be a good fit for their cosmetic needs are often those who are unhappy with the effect that aging has had on their face, neck, or chest. Fine lines, wrinkles, and even mild skin laxity can be minimized for patients of all skin types. Band Aid Skin Tightening is also highly beneficial for patients who have had other procedures, like my Band Aid Facelift, as an effective yet non-invasive way to maintain their surgical results. While no cosmetic procedure can stop the aging process, using an appropriate combination of plastic surgery and non-invasive or minimally-invasive procedures can help patients to restore youth to their face and maintain their rejuvenated look consistently.
For some patients, Band Aid Skin Tightening can be an ideal way to minimize signs of aging and to help them become their most beautiful and confident selves. For other patients, a minimally-invasive procedure or a more comprehensive surgical rejuvenation may be a better fit.
