At the office of plastic surgeon John LeRoy, MD, we feel fortunate to be able to spend every day fulfilling our passion of helping patients become their most confident and beautiful selves. To continue to pay it forward, we’re full swing into our third charity contest of 2015. We’ve received some great nominations from our patients and Facebook followers over the past few weeks, and now is the time when we ask for your vote to help us determine a winning charity.
To cast your vote, just visit the Dr. John LeRoy Facebook page and find the post at the top of our timeline, announcing that the voting has begun. Click on the link in the post, which will take you to an anonymous poll where you can vote for one of our four deserving finalists. These finalists include:
St. Jude’s Hospital for Children – As a powerful force working toward curing illnesses like pediatric cancer and sickle cell disease, St. Jude’s Hospital provides all their patients with free, top-notch medical care. St. Jude’s not only helps individual children suffering from life-threatening diseases, but also works toward curing all children of these illnesses by conducting cutting-edge medical research.
Loving Arms Cancer Outreach – For patients who are fighting cancer, enduring treatment is only part of the battle. The disease also takes a toll on patients emotionally, financially, and cosmetically, and Marietta-based Loving Arms Cancer Outreach strives to meet patients’ needs with support groups, financial assistance, educational programs, connections with cancer survivors, and cosmetic prostheses, wigs, scarves, and more.
Atlanta Food Bank – Hunger is a worldwide problem, and metro Atlanta is no exception. Since its founding in 1979, the Atlanta Food Bank has grown into a vital resource for over 600 local non-profit organizations, serving the needs of the hungry and food-insecure in 29 Georgia counties by distributing prepared and non-perishable food to shelters, food pantries, and soup kitchens, helping those in need to find and apply for life-saving government benefits, and operating several other vital programs.
Blue Skies Ministries – When a child is diagnosed with cancer, the lives of the patient and their entire family are turned upside-down and begin to revolve around the sea of procedures, treatments, and added stress on a day-to-day basis. Blue Skies Ministries, founded by a mother whose own child survived cancer, provides families with a much-needed break by hosting beach retreats that allow the patients and their families an opportunity to reconnect and refresh their hope for the future.
On behalf of all of us at the office of Dr. John L. LeRoy, we would like to thank all of those who nominated these deserving charities, as well as those who will be casting their vote, for helping us make the Atlanta community a better place.
