BAND AID MICRO MINI FACELIFT
Performed by John L. LeRoy, MD, FACS in Atlanta, Georgia
Since 1997, Dr. John LeRoy has become known not only as a highly skilled double board-certified plastic surgeon, but as the innovator of the Band Aid Facelift—a minimally invasive version of the traditional facelift, which offers successful and natural-looking results with significantly less recovery time, swelling, bruising, and expense compared to the typical face lift. However, there is no way to stop the aging process entirely, so new signs of aging will arise as the years go on after any cosmetic surgery. While it can take eight to ten years to age enough to warrant a new Band Aid Mini Face Lift, many patients prefer to make smaller “touch-ups” or maintenance procedures more often. To meet this need, Dr. LeRoy developed the new Band Aid Micro Mini Facelift.
Much like the Band Aid Facelift, this new procedure focuses on creating a more youthful and well-rested appearance by removing sagging skin, lifting and restoring firmness to the skin throughout the face, and repositioning the underlying tissue as needed. However, the Band Aid Micro Mini Face Lift is an even milder method, resulting in less recovery time than similar surgeries. For instance, the Band Aid Facelift generally requires half as much downtime as the traditional facelift, and the new Band Aid Micro Mini Facelift only requires around half as much recovery time as the Band Aid Mini Facelift.
In addition to the minimized healing time, the Band Aid Micro Mini Face Lift offers other advantages over more comprehensive surgeries:
- Performed in a comfortable office setting rather than an intimidated operating room
- Uses gentle numbing to spare patients the effects of general anesthesia
- Focuses on natural- looking results to keep a consistently youthful look without the “windblown” or “overdone” look
Ideal candidates for this unique procedure are generally those who have had a traditional facelift or a Band Aid Facelift approximately three to four years ago and who are beginning to see new aging in the form of thinner, looser skin and a loss of facial volume.
In general, if your Band Aid Micro Mini Facelift takes four years off your appearance, it will typically take four years before your aging has progressed enough to return you to your pre-surgical look. However, keep in mind that everyone ages at their own pace, and that factors like genetics, skincare, sun protection, lifestyle choices, and more can impact your physical aging.
Can I get the results of a Band Aid Micro Mini Facelift without surgery?
There are a number of non-surgical facial rejuvenation methods, including cosmetic injectables (Botox®, Dysport®, Restylane®, Juvéderm®, etc.), laser treatments like my Band Aid Laser Skin Resurfacing, and non-invasive Band Aid Skin Tightening. Each of these treatments have their own focuses, from skin quality to muscle relaxation, and while they can all be part of a carefully planned aesthetic strategy, cosmetic surgery offers a precision and a degree of improvement that non-surgical options cannot provide.
