As a double board-certified plastic surgeon, I’ve found that while each patient is very unique, there are a few priorities that hold true for every patient: they all want results that make them feel more confident in their appearance, and they all want their procedures and recovery to go as smoothly and easily as possible. Realizing that there was a need for procedures that better balanced these two priorities led me to develop my Band Aid Facelift nearly 20 years ago. While most of my patients are familiar with my mini facelift, fewer patients realize the many other procedures I’ve developed since then, all following my signature Band Aid procedure pattern: minimally-invasive procedures that can correct mild to moderate imperfections using gentle numbing in a comfortable and safe office setting. Below is a brief explanation of my Band Aid procedures for patients who want facial rejuvenation but may not yet need the comprehensive results of more traditional plastic surgery.
Band Aid Brow Lift
As its name suggests, a Band Aid Brow Lift focuses on the area around and above the eyebrows. Creases on the forehead and sagging skin around the eyebrows can age anyone’s appearance, and in the case of skin that causes a drooping effect over the eyes, can make a patient look tired or unfriendly. Using significantly smaller incisions than a traditional brow lift allows me to remove the excess skin and provide a rejuvenating lift to the remaining skin with local anesthesia and minimal downtime.
Band Aid Eyelid Surgery
Often referred to as blepharoplasty, eyelid surgery can address eyelids that have a hooded appearance, puffy “bags” under the eyes, or both. My Band Aid Eyelid Surgery uses minimally-invasive methods to address the same concerns by removing sagging excess skin or the small fat deposits that cause under-eye bags, creating a more rested and rejuvenated look.
Band Aid Laser Skin Resurfacing
Unlike my other Band Aid procedures, Band Aid Laser Skin Resurfacing doesn’t remove or re-position tissue, but focuses on enhancing the quality of the skin itself. As a procedure that is especially helpful for patients who have subtle signs of aging (like age spots from sun damage or fine lines and wrinkles)but not enough skin laxity to warrant a surgical solution, Band Aid Laser Skin Resurfacing uses a DOT laser to send tiny columns of light into the skin. The perforations created by this process activate your body’s natural healing process, which produces a protein called collagen that restores elasticity and youthful firmness to the treated area.
Band Aid Skin Tightening
Like laser skin resurfacing, Band Aid Skin Tightening is a method of non-surgical facial rejuvenation. Rather than using a laser, this procedure uses the Protégé skin rejuvenation system, which sends precisely controlled heat energy into the skin. By promoting collagen growth which restores the skin’s youth, Band Aid Skin Tightening produces results that continue to improve for up to 6 months after treatment.
Besides noticeable, natural-looking results with minimal cost and downtime, Band Aid procedures offer versatility. For instance, they can be used once to address the concerns of patients with mild to moderate aging, or they can be used as part of a multi-step rejuvenation plan, or they can be used to enhance and maintain the results of previous plastic surgeries. Whether it’s through a minimally-invasive procedure or a more comprehensive cosmetic surgery, I’m honored to help my patients become their most confident and beautiful selves.
